The Liberated Guardian was a split off publication from the National Guardian (later just The Guardian), a left-wing weekly paper whose history extended back to the 1940s. The Liberated Guardian published for several years, first as a weekly, then bi-weekly, then monthly. This issue was a relaunching of the title as a New York City-centric paper, although somehow the cover designer didn’t get the message.
