Julian Bond was a Georgia state politician and civil rights activist. He served in the Georgia state House and Senate from 1967-87. From 1998-2010 he was chairman of the NAACP. At the 1968 Democratic National Convention, Bond was nominated as a candidate for Vice President. However, he declined having his name in nomination since he was only 28, and the VP needs to be at least 35.
